Owner's Story
I am a local entrepreneur residing in Austin, Texas. As technology is bridging gaps, saving time and making things easier for us in many ways, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with the pace and the ever-changing landscape. It is our drive and passion for the things we do and the pleasure that we get from learning, experiencing and sharing our experiences that keeps us going. Most importantly, to keep going, you also need to take a break.
I started off by taking streaks of mini vacations in different parts of the U.S. with my family just to get away from the day to day monotony and stress , I discovered several hideaways and the abundance of nature and beauty that lies in every part of our country. Everywhere I travelled, I became more aware of the places, people and their culture being so unique and different in its own way.
From the adventures of trekking, camping and going hiking in the mountains in the north to the sun shining beaches of Florida in the south, the art, sights, museums and an autumn day at Virginia’s finest Vineyards in the East, the immensity of the national reserve parks and the Golden Gate bridge in the west, and, in the pacific, the coral reefs and surfing in Hawaii turned it all into a passion for me.
But, with every trip the cost of travelling started growing on me. I still remember how the pain staking searches for different boarding and lodging deals became a challenge in its own. With every click of the mouse the desire to find a free service that would help me find vacation rental apartments and luxury villas in California, Hawaii and other popular places like Florida at a lower cost kept getting stronger. However, the most difficult part of planning a trip was to make sure I find a place that does not disappoint my family and is safe, enjoyable and low in cost.
Many times I had to compromise and I learnt my lessons the hard way. So the idea of connecting the owners of the vacation rentals directly with the people that were interested in vacationing and finding better deals by eliminating the middle man began to formulate in my mind. Today, that thought has taken the form of www.VacationRentalsByPeople.com. The website is free for vacation rental owners to list their property and for the people who want to reach out to them.
